The simple exercises for becoming aware of the energies allow us to enter in contact with the energetic body; they will help the energy to transform for us from a vague, theoretic concept, into an alive, perceptible reality.
For this reason, the fundamental exercises of becoming aware of the energies are very useful, as a basis and component elements for other tantric yogic techniques. It is good to keep our eyes closed during these techniques to help us focus on the subtle energetic sensations.
1. Awareness of the bio-magnetic energy. Duration: 3 minutes
If we have never practiced these kinds of techniques, or if we intend to explain them to the person we love who is performing yogic exercises for the first time, it is indicated to start with a simple experiment, through which we can become aware of the energies of our being. Put your palms together slowly, without touching each other. Then move the palms in circular movements or through slow or sudden movements, backwards and forwards. Aim to permanently keep a state of profound relaxation. In a few minutes a distinct bio-magnetic field will be created between our hands, like a sphere of force. The perceptions will be more intense if before starting we rub our palms against each other for about 1 minute.
This exercise is about becoming aware of the energetic interaction with another human being at the level of the palms; focusing to create a bio-magnetic energetic field between our palms and the palms of our lover. Raise the palms to the level of the shoulders and then put your palms close to the palms of your beloved, at a distance of about 4-6 cm. aiming not to touch the hands of our partner at all, because touch brings a short-circuit into manifestation which greatly diminishes the intensity of the field. Move the hands gently and slowly in different directions.
2. Perceiving the energy flows through the fingers. Duration: 3-5 minutes.
The exercise is performed in Vajrasana (the diamond posture). The couple sits in Vajrasana, facing each other, close enough for your knees to touch. The hands are placed at shoulder level, but this time we bring our fingers together until the tips gently touch the tips of our partner. Keep the eyes closed.
Focus all your attention on the tips of the fingers. Become aware of the flow of energy that goes from one to another and, mentally, aim to generate and amplify the vibration sensations at the level of the fingers. Feel the energy we receive through the fingers of the left hand, and through the fingers of the right hand aim to emit energy. Continue to breathe naturally.
After you can feel the energetic flow very well, we can practice this exercise with the eyes open. Then perceive the supplementary transfer of energy through the so-called eye magnetism.
Option: the energetic flow is transferred through the palms.
The same exercise can be performed with the lover’s palms touching.
3. Perceiving the energetic flows that pass through the middle fingers. Duration: 3-5 minutes.
Sit on the ground, facing downwards. Arch the superior part of the body backwards, supporting yourselves on our elbows, in a variant of the Cobra posture (Bhujangasana). The forearms are placed on the ground, oriented towards our partner; the tips of the middle fingers touch the middle finger of the loved being. Focus to perceive the flow of energy through the contact zone.
4. Perceiving the energetic flow from the feet. Duration: 3-5 minutes.
Sit on the ground, with the legs straight, and place your feet so that they touch the feet of your lover. Support yourselves on your hands, in order to be as relaxed as possible. The eyes are closed. Focus to feel the energetic flow through our feet. Aim to perceive the energy we receive through our partners left foot and offer energy through the right foot.
Option: perceive the energetic flow through the feet, lying down on the floor.
Follow the recommendations above, this time lying down on the floor.
5. Perceiving the energetic flow through the arms and shoulders. Duration: 3-5 minutes
Sitting in Vajrasana, with the knees near the knees of our beloved, stretch your hands so that the palms and fingers are placed on the others shoulders. Focus to perceive the flow of energy through palms and arms. Because this position produces a penetration into the each others individual auric space, the self-defence mechanism of the other one will be activated and brought to the surface. This is why it is tremendously important to relax deeply and consciously during this posture. We will perform this exercise with the eyes closed. Only when we feel a very good mutual harmonization and a relaxed and relaxing intimacy between us, can we make this exercise with the eyes open. At which time we will notice the blending and enriching of the energetic exchanges between us through mutual love and transfiguring eye-contact.
