Once again, during Easter, April 5-9, there was a true invasion of tantrics and such good fellows at the spiritual center Concordia in Copenhagen. On the menu this time we had a 5-day celebration of the masculine and the feminine during the festival Men and Women, Heroes and Goddesses. Also this year curious people poured in, seeking to explore and experience the nature of Tantra and its possibilities. The halls were full during most workshops, and the atmosphere was uplifted and full of expectations. People came with an open heart and mind, ready for new exciting experiences and new ways of approaching the ancient mystery of the human being. For some it was like bed of roses, for others it was a challenging meeting with unknown sides of oneself, but an Easter full of new adventures it was for all; meeting new ideas, and socializing with old and new friends.
Many of the old and experienced faces from the field of Tantra, who contributed during the first Tantra Festival in Denmark in 2011, were here again this year: the Love Warriors Robert Lubarski, Mikael Kaiser Mørk and Kim Bergensol Andersen. Lorenzo Stiernquist from Sweden, the initiating couple Advaitananda and Adina Stoian, Niels Dencker with Tao-Tantra Massage, Shasmina Dlaceur from Gudindeskolen (The Goddess School), Diana D’light and Martin from C.H.A.I., Adinatha and Ananda from Tantratemplet (The Tantra Temple), Natha Yogacenter as host for the whole event, Evy and James Sampson, Susanne Mikaella Veierbæk from Livsglædecenteret (Center for The Joy Of Life). But this year also new and exciting lecturers and workshop givers had signed up for the festival. We were honored with the participation from Holger Spangaard with Multi-orgasm & Masculinity, Dr Savel Calinescu about Sexual Continence, Hans Hvass from Soulhouse, Deva Talasi, sexologist Mai Jürgensen and Vishwa Yogi from India.
This Easter festival was an exploration and worship of the masculine and feminine values. Therefore the first two days were reserved for men only, the next two for women only, and the last day was dedicated to the magic the happens when men and women meet, and through the tantric training transforms into Heroes and Goddesses. And we can say for sure that many of the participants felt a transformation, which was obvious when they came out from a workshop with big smiles and shining eyes, or, as others, in deep contemplation, or absorbed in discussions in the Tantra lounge about the new knowledge they had met during the lectures. There were lots of possibilities for people to get to know the tantric environment and to find just the right teacher and the courses that would awaken their curiosity.
”With five full days and hundreds of visitors every day, one must say that Tantra Festival has shown that the Danish people are very interested in the correlations between personal and spiritual evolution, couple relationships, love life, erotic life and sensuality. It was also very clear that during this festival, several of the lecturers in many different ways threw light on one of the most central subject in Tantra; sexual continence, which obviously in the last years has become more and more widespread in the society” says Sahaj Porslund, host and chairperson for the events in the Ananda Hall during the festival.
Also this year a panel discussion was held including all the lecturers and workshop givers. The theme for discussion was this time: When men become Heroes and Women become Goddesses – Reaction and Interaction on the Shared Path.
The hall was full and the atmosphere was intense even after five long days. There were disagreements and agreements as there should be in such a diverse environment as the tantric. Many of the delegates told touching stories from their personal lives that created an atmosphere full of heart and togetherness. It was obvious that the festival had created a greater sense of solidarity among the different schools and teachers involved.
Tantra is a spiritual way of evolution for openminded and engaged people who, without prejudice, are ready to meet themselves and fellow human beings in an ever deeper way with new revelations that bring both love and insight into all aspects of life. Emotional knots in the couple relationship can be untied through the tantric methods and the relationship can again flourish. The erotic life can easily get harmonized, intensified or re-awakened through sexual continence, should it have been on put hold. Teenagers and young people can through Tantra have a beautiful, natural and harmonic start of the sex life that brings joy and accomplishment instead of confusion and pain as many experience. Tantra is the spiritual path that acknowledges the sexuality of human beings, and regard love life as an important part of the spiritual evolution. The erotic life gets refined through Tantra, and is elevated to highs of spiritual ecstasy.
